If you thought I had forgotten about this whole project thing like I normally do... well, then you probably know me personally. However, this is not the case; I just spent far too long on this particular one! (Also some bullshit about my computer screen, but I won't get into that.) That's what happened the first time I did this project: I spent far too long on the first few and wound up rushing the other 75% of them, only that one actually had a deadline and I did most of them in one night. At a certain point I wound up smearing paint on the paper and hoping it looked vaguely like a face.

Used this as an opportunity to practice digital painting some more. Not as good as I had hoped, but whatevs. Attempted a 60's pin-up style, but clearly I have no experience drawing sexy. I might decide to do a f'reals paint version at some point cuz the line work didn't turn out as shitty.

Anywho, I've got like 3 lined up in the woodwork. Next will be either Steven Seagal or Kim Jong Il.

So one of my favorite projects this past year was that I had to draw 90 small drawings that have something to do with eachother. I decided to draw my music collection. Here's a few of my favorites:

So I went and saw Avatar, which was about what I expected. Yes, I know I'm really late on the bandwagon, so I won't beat a dead horse and discuss what made it good or bad (generic and predictable, mostly). Instead I'm going to list all the scientifically and logically unsettling points I noticed. (Contains spoilers, if you're into that sort of thing.)

1) If the humans have to live in an all-oxygen environment in their buildings and such because the air on Pandora is unbreathable why were they allowed to smoke?

2) I guess I can understand how trees evolved on Pandora, but how did bamboo get there?

3) If the gravity on Pandora is lower than that of Earth's, how are the Na'vi stronger than humans? Taller, sure, but they wouldn't need to be proportionally stronger.

4) You know those floating mountains? Well, if unobtanium (apparently) floats it only follows that those mountains are filled with the stuff, so couldn't the humans just harvest those and avoid the whole destroying an entire civilization thing? Also who would buy something valued at $20000000/kilo, and why would someone even spend all the resources to mine something that costs that much? That's just economically stupid, I doublt they'd even break even.

5) If they were shooting at the front of the home tree how did it fall sideways?

6) There is no way we could develop the technology, discover and travel to the closest earth-like planet, thoroughly research it, establish a successful mining colony on it, and try to convert its natives to christianity and the American way in only 150 years.

7) There is no way that space shuttle thing was moving fast enough in the final battle thingy to stay in the air.

8) On a related note, if the bad guys were directly on target, as in directly above the magic tree thing, when the shuttle blew up, wouldn't it have still landed on the tree, or at least caught it on fire with the explosion?

9) I find it hard to believe that in the entire history of the Na'vi only 5 people ever figured out that to tame one of those flying red things all you have to do is attack it from above.

Finally, and most importantly:
10) You'd think that in 150+ years they'd have made a new noise for when a truck backs up.

That is all I can remember. I have no problem with how the avatar machines work, though. Those are neat.

Ok, after a brief attempt at using tumblr for my purposes, then getting thoroughly infuriated by its lack of any form of user friendliness and my own lack of html knowledge, I have come back to good ol' blogger because at least here you don't have to download an entirely seperate application for people to leave comments.

So anywho, I've decided to let this blog be an outlet for my art. I will post comics, drawings, probably a movie or two, and basically general what-have-you in the coming posts. Basically the same thing as I've been doing on deviantart, but that site just isn't cutting it any more. You know something's wrong when the encyclopedia dramatica entry on something is 100% accurate. My stuff would get lost in all the furry porn and Kingdom Hearts cosplay photos. Now my stuff will get lost in the same type of thing but at least it won't have the stigma of it being associated with deviantart anymore. It's a shame, really, because there are plenty of great artists on the site, but the sheer overwhelming quantity of shit just buries them and they don't get the recognition they deserve.

A more substantial post will come shortly, but in the mean time here's a cat of mine. Enjoy my pussy :3
